Thanks for visiting our page.  We are Julie and Jean, and we are the Marshmallow Makers.  When I was a child my family visited a marshmallow factory in Las Vegas. Since then, marshmallows have always been one of my favorite desserts.  One day, curiosity led me to search for a recipe for homemade marshmallows.  Jean and I took the plunge, bought a candy thermometer, and made our first batch.  They were soooo good!  We made them again and again and started experimenting with different flavors.  When we realized how popular our marshmallows were with friends and coworkers, we knew we had the makings for a really great business.

We began testing alternatives to corn syrup as there is some controversy associated with its use, especially high fructose corn syrup. We not only wanted to make the most delicious marshmallows out there, we wanted to include as many people as possible to be able to try them.  There are a few substitutes out there, but most of them have a distinct flavor or are still made from corn or wheat (both allergens).  So, we started making a cane sugar syrup; it has similar properties to honey but it doesn't impart a distinct flavor like honey does, making our marshmallows taste like the flavor we are creating.

At Sugar Rush Marshmallows we promise to use only the best and local (when possible) ingredients.  Our fruit based marshmallows are made with fresh fruit and/or quality cold pressed fruit juices.  We use only quality beers and spirits for our Boozy line.  Additionally, we make our own extracts, including vanilla, cinnamon, chocolate (to add an extra layer of depth), anise, mint, and more.  To coat our marshmallows we use a blend of arrowroot powder and confectioner's sugar, making the marshmallow the first thing you taste rather than the confectioner's sugar.

At Sugar Rush Marshmallows we work hard to ensure our customers find the nostalgia and satisfaction they are looking for at first bite.

‚Äčwe make specialty handcrafted marshmallows in small batches with care.
